This is the first of a series of short Life Pro Tips articles. There are so many small things that can make our lives better, and I want to celebrate and share these tips. Let’s kick things off with a topic that affects many of us: Hair Loss.
Hair Loss: Then and Now
Years ago, hair loss was just something you had to live with.
Then hair transplant clinics started popping up everywhere. But transplants were expensive, intense, and honestly, sounded painful.
Then I watched a podcast by Dr. Andrew Huberman – a neuroscientist who went deep into the science behind hair loss (YouTube link!). He talked about actual remedies, ways to help prevent hair loss, and treatments backed by research. Blood-pressure medication, microneedling, and more.
I was curious, but honestly, the idea of blood-pressure medication seemed risky. Side effects and all – it didn’t sound like something you should take casually.
Life Happened, Hair Started Thinning
Fast-forward a bit. New kid. New house. Back to the office. Stress was piling up, and sure enough, the hairline was receding, one follicle at a time. I knew I had to do something, so I found a dermatologist specializing in hair health (yes, they exist!).
I paid the 130€. I was in and out in under five minutes. And the doctor said the same thing Dr. Huberman had mentioned: blood-pressure medication really does help. Apparently, it’s routine now, minimal side effects for most people, and all it takes is one low-dose pill each night. Ask the pharmacy to prepare it, pop it before bed, and watch – at the very least – as your hair stops thinning.
Long Story Short
Hair loss doesn’t have to be a “that’s life, deal with it” problem anymore. A quick doctor visit, a simple pill, and in many cases, you can see real improvement or at least stop further hair loss.
I thought you should know. I think it’s pretty cool. Don’t you? If you don’t have hair thinning, good for you! But maybe share this with someone who might need it – it could make a real difference.
